For three weeks in August each year the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle is the venue for the world-famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo, a colourful kaleidoscope of music, dance and pageantry, attracting some 217,000 spectators annually and an estimated 100 million international television viewers.
This 90-minute film contains the very best moments from the 54th Tattoo including the dazzling sights and sounds of the Massed Pipes & Drums and the inspirational music of the massed Military Bands.
Contributions also featured range from the tropical sounds of The Band of The Bermuda Regiment and Gombey Dancers to a dynamic drum display from Switzerland's Top Secret Drum Corps.
The programme captures many other accomplished performances from, amongst others, The Royal Army of Oman Band, Pipes & Drums and Folklore Arts Troupe, breathtaking rifle routines from The United States Army Drill Team, The Traditional Band of the Army of the Republic of Korea, a 100-strong Massed Highland Dance Display, and The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery with their renowned Musical Drive.
Exclusive extras include a behind-the-scenes featurette and video news release that reveal some of the stories behind the 2003 production plus interviews with cast members and the Tattoo's producer.
