Ossian was one of Scotland's leading folk groups during the 1970s and 80s. Founding members were Billy Jackson (wire-strung harp, uilleann pipes and whistles), John Martin, (fiddle and cello), George Jackson (guitar, cittern, mandolin, fiddle, whistle and flute) and Billy Ross (vocals, guitar, dulcimer and whistle). Later Billy Ross was replaced by Tony Cuffe and the band added Iain MacDonald (highland pipes, flute, and whistles).
