The Irish uilleann bagpipe has the technology to provide a full accompaniment, and has no need of other instruments to fill out the sound. Leo Rickard is an experienced piper from the fishing community of Howth, County Dublin; his uncle Jimmy Rickard played the uilleann pipes before him and his brother Dave is a highly regarded warpiper (with the St. Lawrence O'Toole Pipe Band). In the great Claddagh tradition of piping by such masters as Leo Rowsome, Dan O'Dowd and many more - players who were not afraid to perform without the safety net of accompanying musicians.
